Francis led his whole life in Penance, Loneliness and Poverty. He abondoned his Life of Luxury dedicating himself to Preaching, Praying always loving and respecting Nature. This amazing Sculpture depicts the Saint with Animals. His deep love and care for Creation and Animals show his Devotion to God, the Creator. In all his stories and songs animals take up a particular importance. Francis preached to all animals but in particularly He developped a great Love for Birds. The Saint had a special relationship with them. Birds were, in Francis' opinion, perfect Creatures. All Animals_ but Birds above all_ show their perfect Spirituality in everydays' life. They don't possess anything in this world and they completely confide to God, they don't care about the Future conforming to God's Will.
